George Mayfield has been at the forefront of the UK parkour scene for over 20 years, becoming one of the sport’s pioneers when it first arrived from France. Known for his raw, explosive style, George quickly gained recognition, earning sponsorship from Urban Freeflow in 2007. His competitive highlights include appearances in several Red Bull Art of Motion events and a top-5 finish at the World Freerunning Championships.

 

Beyond competition, George has built a diverse professional career, showcasing his talents in film, TV, theatre, commercials, music videos, circus, and live events. He currently performs with the acclaimed physical theatre company Justice in Motion, blending his parkour expertise with powerful storytelling.

 

With over 15 years of coaching experience, George has been an integral part of London Parkour Academy for the past three years. His unique approach combines technical parkour training with his qualifications as a Forest School facilitator, introducing elements of wilderness and outdoor skills into his sessions. He is trained in trauma-informed practice and has extensive experience working with young people, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

 

George’s coaching is further enriched by his own athletic background as a national-level competitor in athletics and his academic foundation, holding a 2:1 degree in Biomedical Sciences from Newcastle University.
